Assistive Technology Device Loan

When individuals with disabilities have an opportunity to borrow AT devices, they may learn more about which devices meet their needs. This often helps consumers decide what device to purchase or whether to purchase a device at all.

WATAP provides short-term loan of devices for up to six weeks. The short term loan program is intended to assist the consumer in device selection and allow them to make an informed decision before a financial investment is made.

Individuals with disabilities that reside in the state of Washington and/or their family representatives, service providers and employers are eligible to borrow devices up to 6 weeks.

A small fee, based on the value of the item, is charged to cover maintenance costs. An online equipment loan application along with policies and procedures for the loan program are available in hard copy and on this web site.

WATAP also loans devices to public entities for short-term accommodation, or to individuals while a device is being repaired, based on availability.
